
Darus Salam Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has sought public assistance to identify an estimated 20-year-old rickshaw puller who was stabbed to death in the Gabtoli area of the capital early Wednesday morning (September 30, 2026).
According to DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md. Akhtar Hossain, the incident occurred at around 3:30 AM in front of the "Allah-er Dan Hotel" in Gabtoli, where two unidentified assailants stabbed the rickshaw puller in the back before fleeing the scene. Upon receiving news of the attack, a team from Darus Salam Police Station rushed to the location, rescued the victim, and transported him to a local hospital, where attending physicians declared him dead on arrival. With the victim's identity remaining unconfirmed, law enforcement authorities have requested anyone with relevant information regarding the deceased to contact Inspector (Investigation) Md.
