DMP Arrests 447 Suspects and Files 58 Cases in 24-Hour Capital-Wide Drive
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters in Dhaka, following a 24-hour citywide operational drive resulting in 447 arrests and 58 cases on Tuesday.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 447 individuals and registered 58 criminal cases during a coordinated 24-hour law enforcement drive conducted across the capital.

Deputy Commissioner of DMP Media and Public Relations Division Md. Akter Hossain confirmed the drive's outcomes on Tuesday (October 6, 2026). According to DMP data, the division-wise breakdown of arrests includes 101 suspects in Mirpur Division, 70 in Tejgaon Division, 67 in Motijheel Division, 56 in Wari Division, 47 in Lalbagh Division, 47 in Uttara Division, 29 in Gulshan Division, 27 in Ramna Division, and three by the Detective Branch (DB). During the operations, law enforcement officers recovered two cleavers (ramda), three knives, 51.5 kilograms of cannabis, 1,000 Yaba pills, 51 packets of heroin, 19 bottles of Phensedyl, BDT 16,200 in cash, and two mobile phones. Deputy Commissioner Akter Hossain stated that the operations were carried out across various police station jurisdictions to curb criminal activity and drug trafficking, adding that legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently underway.
