
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined the official celebrations marking World Child Rights Day 2026 and the 50th founding anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
Upon his arrival at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy premises on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), the Prime Minister was received by a cohort of 150 children before the inauguration commenced with the national anthem. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Vice Chairperson of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation. The event is being presided over by Minister for Women and Children Affairs Professor Dr. A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain under the theme "Shishur Bhabishyat Hok Shurokkhto" (May the Future of Children Be Secured). The day's schedule includes cultural performances staged by child artists, presentation of commemorative gifts to children, the official unveiling of the souvenir publication 'Shoishob', and an interactive video conference allowing the Prime Minister to engage directly with children across various districts. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is also scheduled to tour an art gallery displaying children's paintings before visiting the Shishu Museum building to officially inaugurate a new rooftop solar panel system and power sub-station on its ground floor.
