DSCC Administrator Freedom Fighter Md. Abdus Salam inaugurated the field survey at Nagar Bhaban on Monday (September 28, 2026). Scheduled to run through October 8, 2026, the survey deploys 72 trained field workers from DSCC and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to inspect 2,250 randomly selected households across 75 wards using the digital 'Kobo Toolbox' application. The collected data will calculate key entomological metrics—including the Breteau Index, House Index, Container Index, and Pupa Index—to classify areas into high-risk (Breteau Index ≥ 20), moderate-risk (10–19), and low-risk (< 10) zones. DSCC will immediately target identified hotspots with larvicidal spraying, cleanup drives, and crash anti-mosquito programs. Emphasizing citizen cooperation, Administrator Abdus Salam urged residents to keep rooftops, balconies, and construction sites free of stagnant water. DSCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Khaybar Rahman, Secretary Md. Mashiur Rahman Khan, and Chief Health Officer Dr. Jahane Ferdous Binte Rahman were present at the launch.
