CMP officers initiate a targeted drive in Bakalia, Chattogram, arresting 15 suspects following violent clashes over drug turf control.

Police have arrested 15 individuals following a overnight drive in the Bakalia area of Chattogram city after a violent clash broke out between rival factions competing for control over local drug turf.

The incident occurred late Sunday night (September 27, 2026) along Syed Shah Road near Access Road. According to local witnesses, two rival groups armed with sticks and sharp weapons clashed around 11:00 PM, leading to repeated chase-and-counter-chase sequences, stone-pelting, and loud gunfire that spread panic across the neighborhood. Bakalia police responded to the scene to restore order and subsequently launched an intensive raid throughout the surrounding blocks to detain those involved.
