Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has announced comprehensive security measures for Sharadiya Durga Puja, emphasizing that the upcoming festival—the first major religious celebration of the Hindu community under the current government—serves as a major test for the authorities. Speaking at a security and traffic management coordination meeting at the DMP headquarters conference room at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, the commissioner detailed that every puja mandap will be monitored via CCTV cameras, and mandap in-charges will wear body cameras.

Around-the-clock standby teams including SWAT, Crisis Response Teams, Quick Response Teams, Crime Scene Vans, and Bomb Disposal Units, along with uniformed and plainclothes officers, will be deployed.

Urging Puja Celebration Council leaders to remain vigilant and utilize the national emergency service 999 if needed, Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presented further operational details via PowerPoint.
