Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad noted that the sequential release of fish fry in the Parliament lake serves as a demonstration to inspire citizens across rural and coastal regions to boost domestic aquaculture production under government initiatives led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni highlighted national efforts to scale up fish and meat production to fulfill protein requirements across the country. During Monday's event, 250 kilograms of native fish species—including Rui, Katla, Mrigal, and Kalibaush—were released into the lake as part of a phased program to introduce 1,200 kilograms of fish fry. Senior officials from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and the Parliament Secretariat were also present.
