
The Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) has reported that heavy rainfall accompanied by severe lightning may occur across vast regions of the country starting tonight.
According to the organization, this spell of rain and lightning is expected to affect several districts in the eastern, central, and southern regions of the country between 10:00 PM on Saturday (September 19) and 12:00 PM on Sunday. Heavy downpours may also occur in many places during this period.
BWOT stated that due to favorable atmospheric conditions, weather patterns will undergo significant changes in 37 districts and surrounding areas across the country. Specifically, regions including Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Dhaka, Munshiganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Gopalganj, Barishal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira, Narail, and Jashore face the likelihood of temporary gusty winds along with 1 to 3 spells of severe lightning and rainfall.
During this time, heavy downpours may temporarily occur at several places across the Chattogram, Sylhet, and Barishal divisions. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is forecasted in one or two places in other parts of the country. Furthermore, rainfall is expected to expand into several districts of the northern Rajshahi and রংপুর (Rangpur) divisions between Sunday afternoon and night.
