Emphasizing grassroots primary healthcare and tackling complex women's health conditions, State Minister for Health Dr. M A Muhit has stated that the government is operating under its electoral manifesto to place top priority on structural health sector reforms, disease prevention, and health promotion.
Addressing the 3rd International Scientific Conference of the Endometriosis-Adenomyosis Society of Bangladesh (EASB) as the chief guest at a Dhaka hotel on Friday, October 30, 2026, Dr. Muhit noted that millions of women suffer from chronic and progressive conditions like endometriosis, yet remain undiagnosed due to social taboos and lack of awareness. To combat this healthcare bottleneck, the government has finalized plans to recruit 100,000 new health workers, including at least 50,000 women health workers, who will receive specialized training to build awareness, facilitate early diagnosis, and establish proper referral pathways at the community level.
