In a major development in the ongoing investigation into the death of former Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Suri, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has revealed that Tahsif's companion, Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dweep, has provided a new claim alleging that both men fled the scene after encountering two individuals who appeared to be police officers.
Briefing reporters on Friday, October 30, 2026, PBI Dhaka Metro North Additional DIG Mo. Enayet Hossain Mannan stated that investigators are scrutinizing every claim made by Dweep rather than taking his statements at face value. "Dweep claimed during interrogation that they saw two individuals resembling police officers at the location and ran away. We are currently verifying whether any actual police personnel were present, whether they were uniformed officers, or if anyone was officially on duty in that area at the time," Addl. DIG Mannan stated.

Initially, Dweep told investigators that he and Tahsif parted ways at the House Building area around 12:00 AM midnight on the night Tahsif went missing, with no further communication. However, evidence shows both men were present at the riverfront site around 2:00 AM on motorbikes. PBI is probing the exact reasons behind their late-night meeting. Furthermore, based on Dweep's statement, PBI has recovered a black Suzuki Gixxer 150 motorbike (lacking number plates) and is verifying its registration documents and ownership to establish its connection to the crime scene.
