Government Promotes 20 Non-Cadre Assistant Secretaries to Senior Assistant Secretary Rank Under Grade-6 Pay Scale
The Secretariat Bhaban housing the Ministry of Public Administration, which issued the gazette notification elevating 20 non-cadre officials to Senior Assistant Secretary rank on Sunday.

The Ministry of Public Administration has promoted 20 non-cadre Assistant Secretaries to the post of Senior Assistant Secretary (Non-Cadre) across various government ministries, departments, and autonomous institutions.

According to an official gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (October 11, 2026), the promotions were granted under Rule-5 of the Bangladesh Secretariat (Non-Cadre) Gazetted Officers and Non-Gazetted Employees Recruitment Rules, 2014. The promoted personnel serve across diverse public offices, including various ministries, government hospitals, the Department of Government Transport, and the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM). Under the Services (Pay and Allowances) Order 2026, the promoted officials will draw salaries under Grade-6, which carries a pay scale of Tk 71,000 to Tk 1,34,000.

As per procedural requirements, the promoted officers have been instructed to formally submit their joining letters as Officers on Special Duty (Senior Assistant Secretary, Non-Cadre) to the Public Administration Secretary either in person or via email, while continuing their duties at their current postings until further administrative orders.
