Govt honours 102 eminent teachers on World Teachers’ Day

Marking World Teachers' Day 2026, the government honored 102 eminent educators from various educational levels across the country in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the teaching profession and nation-building.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presided over the special function organized by the Ministry of Education at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Monday afternoon (October 5, 2026), where he personally handed over a certificate, a crest, and a check for Taka 200,000 to each recipient.

The honored cohort included 10 primary-level teachers, 20 secondary-level teachers, 25 college-level educators, 20 from general universities, 10 from medical universities and colleges, 3 from agricultural universities, 3 from engineering universities, 4 from other specialized universities, alongside 7 special teachers chosen directly by the Prime Minister.
