Speaking at an event organized by the Bangladesh-China Friendship Association at a Dhaka hotel on Sunday (September 27, 2026), Ambassador Yao emphasized the deep-rooted historical and geopolitical ties binding the two nations. He highlighted key areas of burgeoning partnership—particularly between China’s southern Yunnan Province and Bangladesh—spanning transport infrastructure, agriculture, trade, investment, cultural exchanges, tourism, and education. Yao noted that expanding cooperation in these sectors will solidify people-to-people connectivity while establishing a vital foundation for the realization of the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar (BCIM) Economic Corridor. Reaffirming Beijing’s commitment, the envoy stated that the Chinese Embassy will continue to serve as a bridge to foster mutual development, joint prosperity, and long-term socio-economic collaboration across various sectors in Bangladesh.
