He highlighted recent arrests over the past week and called on law enforcement to optimize intelligence networks to prevent destabilization. Citing UN figures regarding over 1,400 fatalities during recent civil unrest alongside a 17-year record of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, he questioned whether the public would ever allow the former regime back into mainstream politics. Furthermore, Minister Ahmad confirmed that Bangladesh has formally requested neighboring India to extradite ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other convicted fugitives under the bilateral extradition treaty.
