Minister Zakaria Taher emphasized that housing extends beyond basic shelter to encompass access to safe drinking water, electricity, sanitation, public transit, education, healthcare, employment, and dignity. He highlighted that the government has enacted the landmark ‘Spatial Planning Act, 2026’ (স্থানিক পরিকল্পনা আইন, ২০২৬), which prioritizes economic growth, biodiversity preservation, climate and disaster resilience, and agricultural land protection. Presided over by Housing and Public Works Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman, the event was also attended by State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Shahel Monjur as special guest.
