The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) has formally accepted charges against seven senior leaders of the banned Awami League—including Advisory Council Member Amir Hossain Amu and former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan—for crimes against humanity committed during the July–August 2024 mass uprising.
A three-member judicial panel headed by ICT-2 Chairman Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury (alongside Judge Md. Monjurul Basid and Judge Noor Mohammad Shahriar Kabir) passed the order on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Accepting the prosecution's formal charge sheet submitted on November 2 on prima facie grounds, the tribunal issued production warrants to produce six incarcerated leaders before the court and issued an arrest warrant against absconding former Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam.
