Inspector General of Police Posts 72 Probationary Assistant Superintendents of Police Across Key Field Units

In a major administrative restructuring, Bangladesh Police has posted 72 newly commissioned probationary Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) across various metropolitan units, district commands, and specialized divisions following the successful completion of their field training.

The transfer and posting order, signed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, was issued by the Personnel Management-3 branch of Police Headquarters on Saturday (October 3, 2026). Officers who were previously attached to Police Headquarters during their practical training phase have been directed to join their designated postings until further notice. Under the directive, key appointments include M. M. Tariq-Ullah, Raisul Islam, and Shaon Reza posted as Assistant Commissioners (AC) at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP); Tanveer Ahmed and Sarkar Farhad Ahmed as ACs at Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP); Shahedul Islam to Tourist Police; Moksedul Momin and Tanveer Ahmed to Criminal Investigation Department (CID); Riaz Khan to Industrial Police; and Tofazzal Hossain Suman and Rupam Debnath to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI). Multiple officers have also been attached to the specialized Cyber Police Unit and regional Range DIG offices to bolster law enforcement, technical surveillance, and institutional administration.
