Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed stated that an investigation is underway to determine whether there was any negligence or lapse on the part of police regarding the demolition and vandalism of the private healthcare center Radda MCH-FP Center in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the site at 3:40 PM on Saturday following an inspection of the Mirpur-1 premises, the DMP Commissioner noted that the extensive destruction—including damage to tin- shed structures and the removal of data equipment and machinery—could not have occurred in just half an hour or an hour.
A case has been filed, four individuals have been arrested, and a three-member investigation committee headed by an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Darus Salam division has been formed to submit a report within the day regarding any potential police inaction during the midnight incident. Addressing allegations involving local political figures and a Member of Parliament, the Commissioner emphasized that police take a strict stance against any illegal occupation or unlawful activities regardless of political affiliation.
