Joint RAJUK and DMP Drive Removes 20 Unauthorized Billboards Along Purbachal 300-Feet Expressway
Officials from RAJUK and DMP Traffic Gulshan Division oversee the removal of unauthorized billboards along the Purbachal 300-Feet Expressway.

In a major joint enforcement operation against unauthorized outdoor advertising, the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) and the Traffic Gulshan Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) removed 20 illegal billboards along the Purbachal 300-Feet Expressway and adjacent access roads near Jolshiri Residential Area.

The seven-hour drive, conducted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday (October 3, 2026), marked the fourth consecutive day of an ongoing anti-encroachment campaign against unauthorized structures in the eastern corridor of the capital. The joint team included DMP Traffic Gulshan Division Deputy Commissioner Md. Tariq Jubayer, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Ziaur Rahman, RAJUK Executive Magistrate Shanta Rahman, Deputy Town Planner Nabayan Khisa, and Badda Traffic Zone Assistant Commissioner Nusrat Yasmin Tisa, supported by two platoons of police personnel. All 20 dismantled billboards lacked valid administrative permits from RAJUK. Following strict verification of ownership and written undertakings binding the owners against re-installation, the magistrate released the confiscated materials to their respective owners. DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Ziaur Rahman affirmed that joint eviction drives will persist to maintain road safety and visual aesthetics along major metropolitan expressways.
