State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has underscored the combined development of language proficiency and technical knowledge as crucial for cultivating skilled human resources to drive Bangladesh's future economic growth.
Speaking as the chief guest on Saturday (October 10, 2026) at the closing and award ceremony of the 4th International Language League organized by North South University (NSU) in Dhaka, Bobby Hajjaj highlighted that language serves not merely as a communication tool but as an indispensable driver of knowledge exchange and socio-economic advancement.
He emphasized that building a highly skilled workforce is essential for realizing Bangladesh’s ambition to transform into a trillion-dollar economy by 2034. Citing international models like China, the State Minister called for enriching scientific and technical terms in the mother tongue while simultaneously expanding young people's fluency in key global languages like English and Chinese.
Chaired by NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, the event was attended by NSU Board of Trustees member Benajir Ahmed and the Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh as special guests.
