The National Citizen Party (NCP) has raised a 3-point demand, centered on the immediate implementation of the referendum verdict and the establishment of an inclusive Constitutional Reform Council.
Speaking at an emergency press conference convened at the NCP headquarters on Saturday afternoon (October 17, 2026) to mark the signing anniversary of the July Charter, NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain presented the charter of demands. He urged the immediate execution of the referendum mandate and called for the prompt dissolution of the existing "one-party constitutional amendment committee."
Hossain explicitly announced that the NCP will boycott and refrain from participating in any one-party amendment committee, advising the public and political stakeholders not to be misled by false claims. Key political board members and leaders present at the briefing included Joint Conveners Sarwar Tushar and Monira Sharmin, Political Board Member Saleh Uddin Sifat, and Joint Member Secretary Faridul Haq.
