Bangladeshi young innovator Fiha Hossain has won a silver medal at the prestigious international innovation competition, the World Invention Competition and Exhibition 2026, held in Malaysia. He achieved this success in the Applied Physics Engineering category by inventing "Solar Effix," an artificial intelligence-based project designed to increase the efficiency of solar power plants. Fiha Hossain is the son of Sajjad Hossain and Farzana Hossain, residents of Zillapara in Pabna municipal town.

Considering Bangladesh's power crisis and the importance of renewable energy, the "Solar Effix" project (an AI-based fault detection and performance monitoring system for solar farms) has been developed. In large solar farms, power generation often decreases significantly due to dust, shadows, high temperatures, or wiring connection issues. Solar Effix uses artificial intelligence to continuously monitor each solar panel, detect potential faults in advance, pinpoint which specific panel has an issue, and provide accurate technical maintenance instructions.

Previously, Fiha won by competing against more than 250 innovative projects in the national round of the country and was selected for the international round. Later, he prepared himself by participating in multiple national-level boot camps and training programs. On September 19, 2026, this young man departed for Malaysia as a delegate of Bangladesh.
