The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism convening its first meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka on Thursday.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has recommended prioritizing immediate recruitment to fill vacant positions across the ministry and its subsidiary bodies to ensure seamless operational standards.

The recommendation was passed during the inaugural meeting of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism, held on Thursday (October 8, 2026) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban under the chairmanship of Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui MP.

Committee Chairman Siddiqui reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, aligning with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s “Bangladesh First” policy to foster transparency and accountability. Detailed operational presentations were delivered covering the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the Bangladesh Tourism Board, and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, aiming to position Bangladesh as a major regional aviation hub and attractive tourism destination.

The committee requested a comprehensive status report on ongoing projects and vacant posts while calling for unified efforts to build modern, secure, and internationally standardized aviation and tourism infrastructure. The meeting was attended by Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat MP, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury MP, Lutfullahel Majed MP, and senior ministry officials.
