Saddam Hossain alias SK Saddam (37), General Secretary of Phultola Upazila Chhatra League in Khulna, was arrested by a special team of Turag police station in Dhaka. He was apprehended from the paved road adjacent to Khalpar bridge under Turag police station around 4:00 PM on Saturday (October 10, 2026). According to a press release issued by the Turag police, the operation was conducted by a police team led by SI (Unarmed) Md. Atiur Rahman under the guidance of Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman.

Reviewing the police's criminal information management system (CIDMS), multiple cases under the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 and various sections of the Penal Code, 1860 were found registered against Saddam Hossain in Dighalia and Phultola police stations of Khulna. Specifically, FIR No. 3 was filed against him at Dighalia police station on September 4, 2024, under sections 143, 144, 341, 323, 324, 326, 307, 379, 506, and 114 of the Penal Code alongside sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act. Furthermore, FIR No. 8 was registered at Phultola police station on August 29, 2024, under section 5 of the Explosive Substances Act and sections 143, 323, 325, 326, 302, 379, 109, 34, and 341 of the Penal Code. Turag police stated that legal procedures are underway to take further legal action against the arrested individual.
