In a historic return to street politics after 21 years, Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tariq Rahman led a massive 7-kilometer 'Sovereignty Rally' on foot across central Dhaka to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

The procession commenced at 3:15 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from the BNP Central Office in Naya Paltan. Walking at the front row of the rally alongside senior cabinet ministers and party leaders, PM Rahman traversed Kakrail, Hare Road, Minto Road, Hotel InterContinental, Banglamotor, and Farmgate before reaching Manik Mia Avenue in front of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 4:45 PM. This marked his first direct participation in a street procession since the 2005 BNP Founding Anniversary rally, where he had participated as Senior Joint Secretary General.
