The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) convened its 10th meeting under the present administration on Wednesday morning, chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The high-level economic meeting commenced at 10:00 AM on Wednesday (October 7, 2026) at the Cabinet Conference Room in the Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka. Official sources from the Ministry of Finance and the Planning Commission confirmed that this marks the fifth ECNEC gathering of the 2026-2027 fiscal year. A total of 13 development projects across various key sectors are tabled for formal review and potential approval during the session, carrying an estimated aggregate cost of BDT 16,207.55 crore. According to the proposed financial outlay, BDT 10,600.80 crore will be supplied directly from government treasury funds, BDT 4,081.85 crore will be sourced through project loans and foreign grants, while the remaining BDT 1,524.91 crore will be financed via the implementing agencies' own funds. Senior ministers, advisors, and planning officials are attending the meeting to deliberate on strategic public expenditure allocations.
