Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chairs a review meeting on the progress of the Inner Circular Ring Road project at the Secretariat on Sunday.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges alongside the Local Government Division to review existing plans and significantly accelerate the construction of the Inner Circular Ring Road to alleviate severe traffic congestion across the Dhaka Metropolitan area.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on Sunday (October 4, 2026) at the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat, the Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need to identify and resolve implementation bottlenecks, establish seamless inter-agency coordination, and enforce a realistic timeline to deliver visible project progress. Attendees included Minister for Road Transport & Bridges, Railways, and Shipping Sheikh Robiul Alam, Minister of State for Local Government, Rural Development & Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam, Minister of State for Road Transport & Bridges and Railways Habibur Rashid Habib, Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Abdus Salam, Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, and senior officials across relevant ministries.
