Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman affirmed his administration's commitment to enforcing equal rule of law for all citizens while speaking at a public ceremony in Feni on Thursday afternoon (October 1, 2026).
Addressing a gathering at Ghatghar in Parshuram following the inauguration of the BDT 1,542.16 crore 'Rehabilitation of Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project (Phase 1)', Prime Minister Rahman highlighted the nation's democratic transition following the end of autocratic rule on August 5, 2024, and the mandate received by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the February 12, 2026 national elections. He warned against attempts by certain political groups to disrupt developmental progress, emphasizing that ongoing social welfare programs—including Family Cards, Farmer Cards, canal dredging, health complex upgrades, and factory reopenings—are critical to national well-being. Following the Parshuram event, the Prime Minister participated in a tree planting drive at Begum Khaleda Zia Women's College in Fulgazi, inaugurated rooftop solar power feed-in operations at the District Council Dak Bungalow, and attended distribution ceremonies for Family Cards, Farmer Cards, and honorariums for religious institution staff at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School grounds.
