Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia in the near future following an official invitation extended by the Saudi Crown Prince, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir announced on Saturday (October 10, 2026).

Speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled "From Workforce to Strategic Partnership: Reimagining Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia Relations" held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, Humayun Kabir stated that Prime Minister Rahman has accepted the invitation.

He also noted that the Saudi Crown Prince has expressed a strong desire to visit Bangladesh, and Dhaka is fully prepared to welcome him at a mutually convenient time. Addressing bilateral defense and security cooperation, the State Minister emphasized that Bangladesh views maritime security and ongoing discussions regarding a mutual defense pact positively, provided it aligns with national interests and contributes to regional stability in the Middle East.

The seminar was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and North South University (NSU), featuring addresses by Foreign Ministry Secretary (Bilateral) Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, BIISS Director General Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman, and NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury.
