Rainfall activity across Bangladesh has begun to diminish significantly as the influence of the South-West Monsoon weakens following the dissipation of a low-pressure system over northern Myanmar and adjoining regions, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday (October 1, 2026).
Met office forecasts issued by BMD Meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik indicate that while light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds may persist in isolated pockets of Chittagong, Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Barisal divisions through Friday (October 2, 2026), the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies and predominantly dry weather. Day temperatures may see minor fluctuations before stabilizing, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. The weather office emphasized that from Sunday (October 4) onward, widespread dry conditions will settle across all administrative divisions, accompanied by a slight drop in night temperatures heading into early next week.
