Three more people died from measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll from measles and its symptoms to 1,084 this year.
According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) release on Friday, the latest data covers the 24-hour period from 8:00 AM Thursday to 8:00 AM Friday. Since April 10, a total of 983 people have died from measles symptoms, while 101 have died from confirmed measles.
During the same 24-hour window, 1,201 new individuals developed measles symptoms, raising the total number of symptom cases to 185,833 since April 10. Lab tests confirmed 64 new cases, bringing total confirmed measles cases to 21,015. Regionally, Dhaka division recorded the highest deaths at 443, followed by Sylhet with 173.
