
Two more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the country over the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). However, no deaths were officially attributed to confirmed measles during this period.
Both fatalities reported in the past day occurred within the Chattogram division. With these recent cases, the total death toll from measles and its associated complications has reached 1,046 for the year.
Health authorities reported 61 new confirmed cases of measles alongside 1,282 suspected cases presenting similar symptoms over the 24-hour window, bringing the cumulative total of suspected infections nationwide to 176,480. Medical experts have reiterated calls for intensified vaccination campaigns and immediate hospital consultation for children showing rash or fever symptoms.
