According to Inspector In-Charge (IC) Asim Dhar of the Sholashahar Railway Police Outpost, the incident occurred around 1:00 PM when the victim, believed to be a transient resident around the station area, was walking along the railway tracks. Preliminary reports indicate the victim became disoriented as the train approached from behind and was fatally hit. Railway police have recovered the body and sent it to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy. Authorities stated that biometric fingerprint cross-checks against the national NID database are underway to confirm the victim's identity. The incident has raised heightened concerns regarding pedestrian safety and trespassing regulations along rail tracks, as two individuals, including a child, lost their lives in similar accidents at the same crossing recently.
