Marking the 27th founding anniversary of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF), Dr. Zubaida Rahman—wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and vice-president of the foundation—expressed hope that the organization would emerge as a global beacon of humanitarian service. Speaking as a special guest at the anniversary event held at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Convention Centre in Dhaka on Sunday (October 18, 2026), Dr. Zubaida highlighted how the non-profit organization has continuously stood by disadvantaged people across Bangladesh since its inception on October 18, 1999.

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman graced the occasion as the chief guest. During the programme, cheques and certificates were awarded to the winners of the foundation's Idea Fest competition—with the team from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University clinching the championship title—followed by the unveiling of a commemorative souvenir. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Social Welfare Minister Prof. Dr. Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain, State Minister for Land Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and ZRF Executive Director Professor Dr. Farhad Halim Donar.
