Arrested in Santhia Murder Case, Police Claim Securing Confessional Leads on Remand

Police have arrested three accused in connection with a murder case filed at Santhia Police Station in Pabna. The case was registered as Santhia Police Station Case No. 11, dated September 9, 2026, under Sections 201, 302, and 34 of the Penal Code, 1860.

According to police, investigators initially apprehended Md. Selim Pramanik (40) of Dangamajhgram and Md. Munsur Ali (34) of Dangamajhgram Gucchagram based on gathered evidence. Following their production before the court with a seven-day remand petition, the court granted three days of police custody.

Police claimed that the duo disclosed critical details concerning the murder during remand interrogation. Questioning revealed that four individuals were involved in the murder of Md. Ajit, naming their two associates as Md. Rezaul Karim Bagha and Md. Akash Molla.

Acting on these leads, police conducted a raid around 5:00 AM on September 12, 2026, and arrested Md. Akash Molla (29) from his residence in Dangamajhgram (Gucchagram).

Another accused, Md. Rezaul Karim Bagha, remains absconding, with ongoing police operations underway to trace and apprehend him.

Police noted that the precise sequence of events, individual roles of the accused, and other relevant aspects are being corroborated through inquiry, while verification of information provided by the arrestees and active investigations into the case continue.
