Former national fast bowler Talha Jubair is set to extend his stint as the pace bowling coach of the Bangladesh national team through the upcoming ODI World Cup, according to reliable sources within the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The coaching setup saw changes in June following the sudden resignation of former Australian pacer Shaun Tait. Talha was initially appointed on an interim basis for the Zimbabwe and Australia series.

However, BCB sources indicate that his mandate is being expanded significantly. Beyond the upcoming series against Afghanistan, West Indies, and South Africa, Talha will remain with the squad through the remainder of the year and maintain charge of the fast bowling unit until the next World Cup.

Alongside Talha's extended stint, Ashiqur Rahman Majumder will continue as the national team's fielding coach, though the exact duration of his contract remains undisclosed.

Dismissing recent speculation regarding changes to the support staff following the Test defeat against Zimbabwe, former national captain Mohammad Ashraful will retain his role as the team's batting coach. Meanwhile, the BCB is actively exploring options to recruit an assistant coach to complement the current coaching setup.
