The English captain reached his second T20I century of the year off just 42 balls—decorated with 8 boundaries and 6 sixes—becoming the first captain from an ICC Full Member nation to score two T20I centuries within a single calendar year. Brook eventually finished with a career-best 114 off 49 balls on Tuesday (September 15).

With this knock, Brook joined an elite group of captains holding single-year century records across formats for Full Member nations:
