Feni is experiencing a simultaneous spike in dengue and measles cases, with this year's dengue infections already surpassing last year's total. According to the district civil surgeon's office report on October 5, 2026, 805 dengue patients have been recorded this year—a dramatic jump from the 201 total in 2025—alongside 2,155 hospital admissions with measles symptoms, mostly children. While 2,106 measles patients have recovered and been discharged, 49 remain hospitalized, with the highest concentrations in Feni General Hospital, Sonagazi, and Daganbhuiyan. Meanwhile, dengue cases have surged heavily, reaching 598 in Feni Sadar alone. Although locals complain about inadequate mosquito eradication efforts, Feni Municipality Medical Officer Krishnapada Saha stated that cleaning drives and regular anti-mosquito spraying are ongoing across the 18 municipal wards.
