DNCC Administrator Launches 'Family Card' Registration in Mirpur; Asserts PM Tarique Rahman Delivers on Promises
DNCC Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan addressing the gathering during the launch of the Family Card data collection program in Mirpur-13 on Monday.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan declared that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is the true party of the people, asserting that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman consistently keeps his commitments to the nation.

Speaking on Monday (October 12, 2026) at the inaugural ceremony of the Family Card data collection program at the Ward 4 Community Center in Mirpur-13 (Dhaka-15 constituency), the administrator highlighted the initiative as a flagship gift from PM Tarique Rahman’s election manifesto. Issuing a stern warning against internal mismanagement, Khan emphasized that any party member attempting to cause confusion or misallocate Family Cards would face swift disciplinary action. He guaranteed that cards would be distributed strictly to genuine, deserving families without discrimination or division.

Addressing the upcoming City Corporation elections, the DNCC Administrator stated that party nominations will be strictly merit-based, awarded only to candidates actively engaged in community service—specifically dengue prevention, waste management, and the "Clean Dhaka, Green Dhaka" urban beautification drives. Furthermore, he pledged that DNCC will soon clear illegal hawker encroachments from roads and footpaths across North Dhaka to restore aesthetic, pedestrian-friendly walkways for residents.
