The current government is set to launch the "One Village, One Product" project nationwide soon, announced Dr. Saimum Parvez, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. He made the statement on Tuesday morning (October 13, 2026) following the distribution of relief materials and sewing machines among underprivileged citizens at Shibganj Pourashava in Chapainawabganj.
Dr. Parvez explained that under the Ministry of Finance, the project will establish structured marketing channels across the country for traditional products uniquely manufactured in each region. The initiative aims to foster new entrepreneurs and bring Bangladesh's traditional craft industries into the global marketplace under the leadership of Tarique Rahman's government.
Addressing political and security concerns, Dr. Parvez emphasized that ousted autocratic forces might attempt to engineer anarchy at any time. However, just as the public united to overthrow them, the government and citizens will face future challenges in the same manner, maintaining maximum vigilance against any nexus between fascist and covert elements.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister's Special Assistant attended an environmental awareness discussion at Shibganj Girls' High School. The events were attended by Shibganj Pourashava Administrator Mazharul Islam, Shibganj Upazila BNP Convener Ashraful Haque, Shibganj Pourashava BNP Convener Shafiqul Islam, and Joint Convener Dr. Nahiduzzaman Suman, among other dignitaries.
