Islami Andolan Bangladesh has expressed strong indignation and fierce condemnation over the loss of civilian lives—including Bangladeshi expatriate workers—in the Houthi missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In an official statement released on Sunday (October 11, 2026), Islami Andolan Bangladesh Secretary General Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman conveyed profound sorrow and condolences to the bereaved families of the victims. Citing reports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that confirmed two Bangladeshi deaths and four critically injured citizens undergoing ICU treatment in Riyadh among the 12 dead and 309 injured, the Islamic leader called upon the Bangladesh government to take immediate, urgent measures for the medical treatment of the wounded and the quick repatriation of the deceased workers' remains. Stressing that targeting civilian infrastructure and endangering innocent lives is completely unacceptable, Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman called for an immediate cessation of regional hostilities, protection of non-combatants, and a peaceful resolution to the Middle East conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
