Islami Andolan Bangladesh Urges All Factions to Keep Makkah and Madinah Beyond Political Conflicts
Islami Andolan Bangladesh Secretary General Mawlana Gazi Ataur Rahman addresses press concerns regarding regional security and the protection of Islamic holy sites in Dhaka on Sunday.

Islami Andolan Bangladesh has expressed grave concern over allegations surrounding a drone strike targeting a power plant in the holy city of Madinah, urging all regional parties and international actors to keep Makkah and Madinah above political warfare, armed hostility, and geopolitical rivalries.

In a formal press statement issued on Sunday (October 4, 2026), Islami Andolan Bangladesh Secretary General Mawlana Gazi Ataur Rahman strongly condemned any attempt to turn the holy sites of Islam into targets for political or military objectives. Expressing anxiety on behalf of the global Muslim ummah regarding the reported strike on Madinah's electricity station, Rahman noted that while those accused have denied responsibility and independent verification remains limited, all involved parties must ensure that the Haramain Sharifain is never exploited for factional or political leverage. Emphasizing that Makkah and Madinah hold deep spiritual reverence for billions of Muslims worldwide, the Secretary General called upon relevant international stakeholders to exercise maximum restraint and maintain responsible conduct to preserve the peace, safety, and sanctity of these sacred sanctuaries and their surrounding infrastructure.
