Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has issued a sharp protest rejecting allegations made by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton claiming that party Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Parwar owns 700 battery-operated auto-rickshaws.
In an official statement released on Friday afternoon (October 9, 2026), Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General and Central Media Secretary Advocate Ehsanul Mahboob Zubair described the administrator's comments reported across media outlets as baseless, fabricated, and politically motivated.
Zubair stated that a high-ranking public official is expected to deliver facts rather than unsubstantiated claims against senior political leaders. He emphasized that issues concerning auto-rickshaws, urban traffic management, and driver livelihoods should be addressed through policy and dialogue rather than personal character assassination.
Jamaat-e-Islami urged the DNCC administrator to publicly present verifiable evidence supporting his statement or immediately withdraw the allegations and offer an unconditional public apology.
