Central leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP) visited the residence of Bangladeshi Islamic scholar Mufti Nasrullah Badar, who was tragically killed in a Houthi rebel attack targeting Riyadh International Airport in Saudi Arabia.
On Friday afternoon (October 16, 2026), NCP Joint Convener and National Ulema Alliance (NUA) Convener Maulana Ashraf Uddin Mahdi Azhari led a delegation to meet the bereaved family members in person. Concurrently, NCP Convener Nahid Islam joined via video call from Dhaka to express deep condolences and personally check on the family's welfare.
During the interaction, the family confirmed that they have decided to bury Mufti Nasrullah in Saudi Arabia. His brother-in-law has already landed in Saudi Arabia to complete the necessary consular and administrative formalities. Speaking via video call with the deceased's elder brother, Mufti Ahsanullah, Nahid Islam offered profound sympathy, praising the family's strength and assuring them of full backing in safeguarding the future of Mufti Nasrullah's three young orphaned children. Maulana Ashraf Uddin Mahdi paid emotional tribute to his former Lalbagh Madrasa senior, remembering his scholarly devotion at the Lalbagh Shahi Mosque and praying for the departed soul's eternal peace.
