"People Will Stand by the Government If Firm Action Is Taken Against Injustice": Ruhul Kabir Rizvi

BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has urged the government to take uncompromising stance against corrupt officials and allies of fascism within the public administration, assuring that the public will firmly back decisive state actions against impunity.

Addressing a commemoration meeting at the National Press Club on Saturday (October 10, 2026) honoring the 36th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Nazir Uddin Jehad, Rizvi stressed that those involved in extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and financial looting must face unyielding justice. He stated that the historic July 2024 Mass Uprising was built upon years of foundational anti-authoritarian struggles led by BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Highlighting upcoming religious festivities, Rizvi warned of potential sabotage by ousted political elements during Durga Puja and called upon BNP activists and citizens across Bangladesh to safeguard Puja mandaps to ensure peaceful celebrations for the Hindu community. The event was presided over by Shaheed Jehad Smriti Parishad President and BNP Standing Committee member Amanullah Aman.
