Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has emphasized that building national political unity is essential to prevent any future rise of autocracy or fascism in Bangladesh.
Speaking at a seminar organized at the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, on Saturday afternoon, October 31, 2026, the Home Minister stressed that national issues must be solved through dialogue rather than street demonstrations like long marches. "To ensure that no autocratic or fascist regime can ever take root in Bangladesh again, we must strengthen state institutions through constitutional amendments, ensure a balance of power, and guarantee accountability," he declared.
