Rashed Khan Accuses Awami League and Jamaat of Plotting Anti-National Conspiracies Against Government

Rashed Khan, Political Assistant to the Prime Minister, has accused the ousted Awami League operating from Delhi and inside Bangladesh, along with Jamaat-e-Islami, of orchestrating anti-national plots against the current BNP government and the nation's democratic fabric.

Speaking to journalists at the Narayanganj District Council Office on Sunday afternoon (October 11, 2026), Rashed Khan stated that both Awami League and Jamaat have historically colluded against the public interest and the BNP. He cited the 1986 and 1996 elections, alleging that both parties backed HM Ershad's authoritarian regime to undermine democracy, a challenge that was then confronted under the leadership of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Expressing confidence in the current administration, Khan declared that the BNP government, backed by public support, remains fully capable of countering all political pressure and subversion. Prior to his interaction with reporters, Rashed Khan visited the Abbasi Manzil Jaunpuri Darbar Sharif in Siddhirganj's Pathantuli area to meet Mufti Dr. Sayyid Muhammad Enayetullah Abbasi, accompanied by Narayanganj District Council Administrator Prof. Mamun Mahmud and local officials.
