District BNP President Mirza Faysal Amin has submitted his nomination paper as the party candidate for the Thakurgaon-1 by-election. He is the younger brother of President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Mirza Faysal Amin handed over his nomination paper to District Election Officer and Returning Officer Md. Kamrul Islam at the Thakurgaon District Election Office on Sunday. With his submission, a total of six candidates have filed nomination papers to compete in the constituency. The five other candidates are Delawar Hossain from Jamaat-e-Islami (supported by the 11-party alliance), Obaidullah Masud from BNP, Khademul Islam from Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Abdul Alim Nizami from Khelafat Andolan, and Hossain Mohammad Omar Farooq from Bangladesh Congress.After submitting his nomination form, Mirza Faysal Amin shared his vision with reporters, stating, "My main aspiration revolves around Thakurgaon. We all share a common dream that we want to fulfill. We want to see Thakurgaon flourish into an exceptionally beautiful, livable township where people live in peace, unemployment is addressed, and discrimination or inequality is eliminated. We aim to carry out the necessary work to turn that dream into reality."According to the Thakurgaon District Election Office, the Thakurgaon-1 constituency has a total of 5,16,138 voters.
