Sujanagar Upazila Awami League President among 15 detained during rally preparation in Pabna
The District Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested 15 leaders and activists, including Abdul Wahab—president of the banned Sujanagar Upazila Awami League and former upazila chairman—while they were allegedly preparing for subversive activities and a procession in Pabna town. The operation took place on Wednesday morning (September 30) at around 6:30 AM in front of Indira Mor on Abdul Hamid Road in the city. Pabna District DB Police Officer-in-Charge Abdus Salam confirmed that the group had arrived in a microbus to orchestrate sabotage and rally in the town.
The detainees have been handed over to Pabna Sadar Police Station for legal action. This marks the third time Abdul Wahab has been detained since August 5, following previous arrests in 2025 and earlier in April 2026, after which he had repeatedly secured bail.
