Bangladesh have suffered a severe double blow during the Mirpur Test against West Indies, as experienced batter Mominul Haque was ruled out with a concussion after being struck on the head during fielding, while the team's top order collapsed to 33 for 4 in their second innings.
According to an official BCB statement confirmed by national team physio Bayazidul Islam Khan, Mominul sustained a head injury while fielding in the 78th over of West Indies' first innings. With concussion symptoms subsequently appearing, the Bangladesh Cricket Board invoked the ICC concussion replacement protocol, bringing in Jaker Ali Anik as his official substitute for the remainder of the match. Under ICC regulations, Mominul is subjected to a mandatory 7-day inactivity period, automatically ruling him out of the upcoming second Test. The injury crisis compounds Bangladesh's selection woes, with veteran Mushfiqur Rahim already sidelined and Litton Das playing through physical discomfort.
